Situated on the Jawai river is Jawai, a small village in Rajasthan’s Pali district. It is currently one of Rajasthan’s most popular tourist destinations. Because of a nearby dam on the river, this area is frequently referred to as Jawai Bandh. Maharaja Umaid Singh, the Jodhpur ruler at the time, constructed Jawai Bandh over a 500 square kilometer area.

The Jawai Bandh region is abundant in wildlife, with a variety of bird species, sloth bears, hyenas, crocodiles, and leopards to be seen. Because Jawai is nestled between granite hills, the weather there is always pleasant. Because of their abundance in this region, jawai bandh has become a major hotspot for leopard sightings.
